Becoming eco-friendly isn't just a fad, but very important. Unfortunately being in very tough economic times we cannot spend more money to get more eco-friendly. That is out of the question.

There is good news! There is one change you can make that not only reduces your carbon footprint but is guaranteed to reduce your costs at the same time. That means becoming eco-friendly saves you money!! I am talking about creating your own bottled water—right at your tap using a two stage carbon filter, which will remove chlorine.

See most bottled water is produced using a process called 'Reverse Osmosis'. If you read un-biased sources you will learn that reverse osmosis although touted as a water purification method not good for everyday use. It does remove everything from water--including all the good and necessary minerals, but it leaves chlorine behind. Creating what the Japanese call 'Dead Water'.

It was designed to produce fresh water from seawater;on submarines and during emergencies. It was never intended for use on an ongoing basis or long term. The idea of filtered bottled water caught-on with a lot of folks. So a lot of manufacturers decided to cash in and 'reverse osmosis' is one of the cheapest ways to be able to claim the water was 'FILTERED'. There are NO standards in place for the water quality in bottled water --as long as it isn't worse than tap water it can be sold as bottled water.

Many producers of bottled water will tout and display they fact they use reverse osmosis to filter their water implying it is a wonderful method that produces what you want, but as the marketer said so many years ago "BS baffles brains".

In areas where hard water is the norm. Stats show us a lower incident of cardiovascular disease, than in areas where the ground water is mineral poor. Obviously these minerals are important to health and as people discover this importance we find producers using the 'Reverse Osmosis' method are forced to add minerals back into the water. Much the same as white flour makers add nutrients back into the flour then call it 'Enriched'. What a surprise!

You can keep those minerals in your drinking water in the first place just by avoiding use of reverse osmosis filter systems, whether you buy your bottled water or bottle your own. Only two stage carbon filtration can remove impurities like chlorine from tap water and leave the good minerals unaltered.

A counter top--two stage carbon system--will allow you to filter, produce and bottle the best water right from your own tap.

The three prime advantages of a two stage carbon filter system are?

1) Water filtered this way is healthier and safer to drink.

2) Because there are no standards for the quality for bottled water (other than it must be equal to tap water). You could be getting just tap water in that bottle. Bottle it yourself using a two-stage carbon filter system and you'll know what you are getting.

3)you use your own refillable bottles when fill your own. Your bit of plastic waste is NOT going into a landfill.

People everywhere are becoming eco-friendly by making their own bottled water. Not only do they get healthier water and save money, but the feel better for it.

In conclusion becoming eco-friendly doesn't mean, having to give up something, having to sacrifice and having to spend more money. No it just means getting the facts and making the right change at the right time.
